What could be more fun than ... Pirates!  Using the unique Concurrent Class feature of the game Imperium Omni, ANY player of any 'normal' class can also become a Pirate!

In Imperium Omni, players can become almost anything ... in addition to their regular traditional classes like mage, cleric, fighter and thief, Imperium Omni allows players to explore entire whole categories of other classes like Knight of the White Table, Samurai, Spy, or ... Pirate!

Here is an excerpt from the book "Imperium Omni: Captains Edition" which touches on the transition of players into the world of Piracy!

"My name is Captain Selio Falcon. This ship has been commandeered by the Provincial Darrus Island Authorities for use in its ongoing and righteous war against the Polaran Hegemony. We are Privateers with license from the High Seneschal of Darrus," he said, presenting the captain of the trader ship with a document from his pocket. The captain obliged by simply glancing at the document before handing it back. "Furthermore, that document establishes that we have the right to conscript all of you into the service of Darrus. All of you are now acting Privateers yourselves." Ω43

"We'll continue now," he continued, "to where you'll be consigned to Dead Man's Cove for duration of your choosing; by practical application or by action. Once at The Cove you will each have a Minor Mind Seal performed on you to prevent you from disclosing anything you may learn about Dead Man's Cove, or even its existence. Until then, continue to crew this vessel as you have been. Carry on."

The captain returned to his own vessel, and he left about half of his crew aboard his own ship and half aboard the trader ship. Shadow, Fara, Markus and Drudgeon were allowed to keep all of their equipment and supplies, and for the next thirty-plus days, they were all taught the basics of seamanship and Privateering. While the four of them and a few others were being trained in crewing a vessel, knots, navigation, etc, all of the crew received training in saber combat, close infighting, the use of hand-held crossbows, the how-to's of boarding a vessel and other skills. While this was not the optimum situation, being conscripts and basically prisoners, it nonetheless made for a much more interesting and valuable month's journey. About two days away from docking, the whole trader crew were put belowdecks with guards, so that they couldn't see anything about their destination.

When they emerged into the daylight again, they were in a beautiful, large, tropical cove that was entirely sheltered by tight outcropping of rocks, vines and overgrowth. The cove was large enough to dock around twenty full-sized vessels, but seemed primarily devoted to shipbuilding and repair. They disembarked onto the docks, and were led onto a beach where a group of people stood in front of a small village. To their right was what looked like impassable rainforest...with one exception. There was a sign pointing to a path, and the sign read "This Way Out."

A ruddy-faced barrel-chested man came away from the crowd. He wore a large golden orb on a chain around his neck. Human, in his late middle age, he had the build of a longshoreman, heavy, hefty, thick and strong. His face was red-tinged with a red-and-gray beard, tightly trimmed, and cheerful eyes. "Greetings to you all," he said. "I’m Oldham Darcy, Mayor of Dead Man's Cove. The Cove gets its name from the supposed demise of all those who come here. Your ship will never arrive at its destination, and, as we will be refitting it, it will also never be seen again. You will all initially be assumed to be casualties of either a maritime accident or piracy. At some point, most of you will resurface in the real world, and you will simply tell them you don't remember anything about what happened to you. You'll all have a Minor Mind-Seal to ensure you never reveal what you do know, or what you find out later.

"I myself came here as a conscript some five years ago, and I chose to stay. It's a good home, solid work, decent pay. Now, some of you will choose to leave, and eventually, most of you will. You can always walk out at any time, right that way," he said, pointing to the path next to the sign. "Anyone care to take a walk right now?" he asked.

A couple of men looked around at the others, and started forward, but the trader captain grabbed them by the arms shaking his head "no." One of them stayed, the other shook the hand off and walked down the beach, and disappeared into the forest down the path.

"Anyone else?" Oldham asked.

No one else moved. "Good then," he said, "let's get that Mind-Seal done quickly and then we can all start about your work, learning your new trade of Privateering, with some emphasis of course on shipwrighting."

Just a reminder -  Imperium Omni will be bringing retro RPG also to mobile gamers as well! !

Storytellers Entertainment seeks to get a portion of the $100 bn mobile market through a new take on retro gaming

"Imperium Omni”, will also be available on iOS and  Android, once the game development has been finalized. After its  introduction on PC, the fantasy retro game will be launched on on mobile  devices.

The mobile gaming market is said to become a 100-billion-dollar  industry in 2021. By then, both smartphone and tablet games will create  59% of revenues in the entire gaming market. Also, by 2021, there’ll be  2.6 billion people playing mobile games worldwide. We want to cater to  those gamers.

As people can read books everywhere they go, we want to ensure  that they can play Imperium Omni everywhere they are. The game will  support multi-platform play across the PC, Xbox, PS4 and iOS and  Android, with the iOS port likely being first, since the game lends  itself well to mobile gaming.

So Many Mysteries in the Game - Let's Explore Another One. Who is Raunos? He Seems Just a Part of the Past ...
about 7 years ago – Sun, Feb 10, 2019 at 08:24:13 PM

We're still working on those Stretch Goals!  Let's get to $35K, we're getting closer!

Until then, there are So Many Mysteries in the Game - Let's Explore Another One.  Who is Raunos?  He Seems Just a Part of the Past ...

Raunos:

The being named Raunos first became known to the world when out of The Eastern Continent a vast army of orcs, troglodytes, were-beasts and other monsters stormed into southern Amra-Elven, carving out a huge path and then crossing the Narrow Sea into Orienna and Quoth. The army was estimated to be half-a-million soldiers strong, and no possible resistance could be mounted immediately. This army conquered everything in front of it, subjugating all cities and villages, and enslaving their populace as forced-labor.

The vast army ceased its unstoppable march westward just inside the Sashire border, shoring up defenses to the western front as well as the southern front with Sultana. The creature named Raunos made only one public decree. He advised all civilizations and all nations to surrender to him immediately, to prevent further bloodshed. And he said that any nation or individual that located and returned to him his Amulet, those people would be elevated to the highest rank in the New Order under the absolute rule of Raunos. When Raunos appeared on the battlefield, he was far more powerful than any army behind or in front of him. He laid waste to attacking soldiers by the thousands, leveling whole fields and mountains with massive shockwaves, like earthquakes both above and below ground.

Mages, Clerics and Great Heroes all tried to kill or stop him, but all were defeated, and most died in the attempt. After more than a year, Raunos’ army moved again, deeper into Sashire, but also, it moved across the dimensions. Raunos army began an assault on several of The Higher Planes, crossing the Astral Plane as if it was no more than water, taking territory in the realms of several lesser gods. Having never seen such an incursion before from the Prime Plane, the lesser gods attacked Raunos directly... and were defeated, with one god dying a permanent death. This war went on for five years, Raunos taking increasingly more territory in the Prime Plane and Above.

Scholars determined that Raunos’ strength came from not being from this universe at all, that somehow it had come from entirely “elsewhere”, and thus was possibly unbeatable and unstoppable. A mission was created to locate and destroy the Amulet he wanted, as it was the belief that it was the source of Raunos’ power. In a bizarre ending to the war, the group known as The Changers found the Amulet themselves...and they returned it to the super-demon Raunos, who then immediately retreated without explanation and has not been heard from since.

There is no mystery to where he went ... he retreated to the north-east corner of the Eastern Continent.  But he has remained silent for 35 years.
