Imperium Omni August 2020 Update - New Art, New Music, New 3D Animation! And, as a "Thank you for your patience" ... a FREE Kindle Download of the Novel for the next 5 days!
Greetings, everyone! First off, I wish and hope all of you are well and staying safe and sound during this challenging time. It's been a bit of a challenge over here as well, so we've been quiet for awhile as we sorted things out, and we'll get to that, but now it's time for some ... new music, new artwork and even a new 3D animation of the Ruined Temple Interior. And, as a sincere Thank You, the Kindle Download of "Imperium Omni: Captain's Edition" is available for free from Saturday, July 25th through Wednesday July 29th ( https://www.amazon.com/Imperium-Omni-Captains-Matthew-Thomas-ebook/dp/B01F9GY0E6 ). So now, what's new in our video? Click on the image/link below to view it on YouTube:
We have fantastic new music from our composer, Ada Maskil. It's brilliant old-school orchestral power-magic! Plus, brand new 3D animation of the temple interior. This is our first 3D piece. Throughout the game there will be some places that, when you interact with them, they will allow you to enter a 3D exploration mode. Combat is not intended in this mode, but you will be able to explore, and interact with the environment, and if any creatures or enemies are about, you'll deal with them in a different environment. And during the 3D portion of the update video, we'll show you lots of other new artwork, from people to places to items.
As for "These Challenging Times", as I mentioned, they have impacted us here at Imperium Omni. We've entered a slowdown during the recent lockdown, and so, at the moment, we're looking at an approximately 4 month delay in our release date (originally scheduled for the end of this year). We're picking up steam, and plan to be back on schedule soon. We'll keep you more informed from now on, so you know where we're at. Again, I wish all of you the very best, and stay safe and well out there.
Imperium Omni - New Video, New Music, New Maps, New Art -- and Happy Holidays to you all!

Imperium Omni - New Video, New Music, New Maps, New Art -- and Happy Holidays to you all!
Well, we've been hard at work these last several months, and progress is being made on Imperium Omni - The RPG, We've got art from 5 different artists, plus the new musical score.
The score is near and dear to my heart, as it combines a couple of things I love and am very passionate about. The theme itself was composed by my dear friend Jeff Owen, and then myself and Ada Maskil co-produced and scored it. The other part of it that I am passionate about is that it is done in the style of an Homage to Ravel's Bolero. Ravel was quite a genius. Bolero has been one of the most recognizable pieces for orchestra since its premiere in the 1928 at the Paris Opera, as a ballet for the famous dancer Ida Rubenstein. His version clocks in at 15 minutes ... ours is just under 4 minutes. However, I feel like we did a great job of emulating the style of it while not outright duplicating it.
As for the art, it's great stuff, and remember, all the maps are actually live, interactive maps. The player will be able to click on all the buildings and explore them, meeting new characters and finding new tasks.
Well, I hope the artwork speaks for itself, as does the music!
Until next time, everyone have Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!!!

Incredible Progress Forward with our MAIN CITY 3D ANIMATION REVEAL! Yahooo!
We keep working hard, and even though it's only been just over 2 months, we now have 3 new animations, 5 new character portraits (soon to be revealed!) and coming very soon, a new interactive map of our first village. That interactive map will be the basis for the style of ALL of the actual User-Interface Interactive Maps in the game in the future. We'll send out those updates SOON!
Here's the link to our MAIN CITY, PendellHaven Vale and our amazing animation. Also, huge thanks and congrats to our Animator, Bill Munns! - https://youtu.be/Ez7ZhafvQYU
From the novel!
"They were in not just a tavern. This was the finest restaurant and inn in all of The Vale. They were seated out on the Private Veranda, a special deck on the very top floor of The Opera House Hotel, reserved only for the elite hotel guests. Shadow had never been to or in a “Hotel” before, and this blew his mind. One hundred feet above the water, overlooking the entire Lake Vale bay, this was something he'd never seen. The rain had stopped, and now the clouds had parted here and there, moving slowly across the sky, allowing slivers of moonlight to dance on the delicate, rippling waters of the lake. Across from the balcony, the wet pines and oak leaves shimmered. Shadow could see tall watchtowers around the city limits, and across the lake, the braziers in the towers burning low. On the balcony, waiters were coming and going, and everything they asked for, they were given.
After dinner, they strolled around the city. The weather after a storm was always so beautiful. The air was crisp, and very cool, but not cold. There was only a light wind. The peeks of moonlight emerging from dappled clouds added to the beauty of the very well maintained street lamps that were all lit and burning in their glass hurricane enclosures. Elegantly dressed folk strolled around, with some who looked to be explorers and others who seemed to be traders or merchants. This was the High Quarter, to be sure, so it smacked of elegance. It was a miraculously well maintained city, almost perfectly preserved, with ancient carved stone columns fronting the various prestige buildings, mullioned windows and leaded glass. It was like walking back in time. Cobblestones on the street were so perfectly set that they had no weed growth between them, and they were polished as if by thousands of swipes by small-grit rough rag-paper, the little gaps between the stones filled with leftover water from the rains. Each building had large raised entries, most had elaborate marble columns fronting them. The windows in most were spectacularly large, lead-lined mullioned glass that reflected beautifully on the lamplight. It was a beautiful city, transported out of time from an ancient age, a living, breathing reminder of a bygone era of when the entire world seemed like it could be conquered by man-made beauty. Shadow reveled in it, seeing something and feeling something that he’d always dreamed of, but never actually experienced. Truly ancient history, still alive to this day. And these extraordinary buildings set amidst this gigantic, tangled forest of pine and oak, the green towering trees flowing up everywhere, these buildings proved that it was true. The past could live in the present. And the forest could live in the city."
